Model: 2018 Octavia SE 1.0 litre TSI. Posted 12 September, 2014. I had a Fabia with the 1.2 3 cylinder engine for two and a half years. Never had a problem with it and it always started first time. What I did notice though was that when I opened the driver's door, the fuel pump primed ready for the engine starting.

Hi Guys, My car (Skoda Fabia 1.4 16V 2001) normally starts first time but recently it's sporadically been having problems. It will turn and it normally starts after awhile however it runs for about 5 to 10 seconds at about half the normal idling revs before ramping up to normal.
The engine does seem to turn over very easily which is worrying. I have removed the camshaft end covers and positioned number 1 cylinder at TDC. The slots in both camshafts are in the 5 past 7 position rather than quarter past 3 (horizontal).
I have escalated the problem to Skoda but they have shaved off by saying that it is not a manufacturing defect and they cannot help it. I have repeatedly shared the problem with Mr. Ahluwalia and Mr. Imran of Giriraj, but there seems to be no respite. Please if anyone buying a skoda, dont consider Giriraj motors in Gurgaon.
